| members Mike Fay Michael D. Fay and was the official combat artist for the United States Marine Corps from 2000-2010. In this capacity he completed four combat tours as a war artist, two each in Iraq and Afghanistan, for the National Museum of the Marine Corps. In 2010 Mike retired and, among other things, founded The Joe Bonham Project. The JBP is a reportage art program documenting the faces and experiences of profoundly battle wounded soldiers and Marines. Mike started The Joe Bonham Project with Richard Johnson in 2011 and the International Society of War Artists back in 2008. In 2010 Mike was a contributor to Richard’s Kandahar Journal. Mike has written many illustrated articles over the years for the New York Times and Canada's National Post, along with his blog Fire and Ice. Mike has also been featured on several occasions by the Melton Prior Institute for Reportage Art. Mike is currently an adjunct assistant professor for the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. At both schools he developed and taught a course on reportage art. Over the past 10 years Mike has curated and co-curated exhibitions at the Farnsworth Museum and Wyeth Center, the James A.
